2019 Is a Wrap!

2019 was a very special year for hdpocketdoors. This was a year of substantial growth for our company and our product line. It is a privilege and honor to work alongside my dad Jim Christner the OG Pocketdoor guy. Some of our highlights were connecting with customers nationwide through Instagram and our web site and even scratching the surface with some international orders to Canada.

We kicked off in January with a milestone installation of 17 heavy duty pocket door frames installed in one day and in one house for Morgan Taylor Homes. We made a return trip for an additional frame, totaling 18 frames all with soft close soft open and utilizing Top Line Grant Hardware from Hettich America.

We are always looking to think outside the box and come up with custom solutions for our customers projects. We had the opportunity to work with the synchronized soft close open track and hardware from Sugatsune America. We put together a mock wall implementing their track and hardware in our heavy duty pocket door frame system, and it has been a hit for customers looking for a stand out converging pair ever since.

This April we began selling the Cavilock pocket door hardware, listing the products both on our Instagram page and our web site. This makes it very convenient for customers to purchase their pocket frames and door handles at the same time from a company they know and trust.

This June we brought in our summer apprentice. We want to do our part to keep craft alive and pass our knowledge onto the next generation. He got to see firsthand what it takes to be a pocket door guy by starting with the basics and fundamental parts of the frame. We look forward to having him join us again next summer when he'll build on the skills he learned.

September was our 4k giveaway. As we hit 4000 followers on Instagram, we held our first giveaway contest to celebrate. The prizes were our 5500-150 SD with soft close/open for a 30" x 80" door in a 2x6 wall along with a slot cutter and some pocket door guy swag. The lucky winner of the contest was Adjilongowoodworks in El Monte, CA. We had a lot of participation in the contest and look forward to doing another giveaway in the future.

This November we introduced our track protective cover. This cover can be used through construction before the door is installed in the pocket. Its purpose is to keep the track free from dust, paint, drywall mud, and other contaminants during the construction process. We care about our customers' finished product and want these frames to continue to function properly for years to come.

Thank you all for being a part of a fantastic 2019 for hdpocketdoors! We hope you all had a merry Christmas and wish you a happy new year! Let's make 2020 a banner year.
