A Season of Thankfulness

Here at the pocket door workshop, when the gloves go on, the grind begins.

We are all about the hustle and bustle, but it's nice to take a moment and reflect on the big picture. What better time than as we roll into Thanksgiving to give thought to what I am thankful for!

I grew up in a Christian home with loving parents. I have one sibling, a kind, sweet sister. Being five years younger than me, she may have got picked on a bit. No admission here though. Both my parents were involved in the family construction business, which gave me the opportunity to learn the importance of hard work and what it means to provide for your family. Working on a framing crew alongside my dad, I learned how to build relationships as we built custom homes. It gave me the drive that I could accomplish anything if I put my mind to it.

I am blessed with a wonderful, loving family. This coming August marks 20 years of marriage to the most magnificent woman. Not only is she a super wife, but she is an awesome mother to our three amazing kids. It's quite a journey raising our three kids, daughter, son, daughter. What a thrilling ride teaching, guiding, loving unconditionally. The adventure continues as we watch them grow up, and in their faith. Of course, my faith in Christ gives me the strength it takes to make it through the day-to-day, and also gives me something to strive for long term as well.

Back to the pocket door workshop, I'm so grateful to be working alongside my dad as he is reaching toward retirement and passing on the family business. The knowledge and experience that I have gained and used in my personal life as well as this business is priceless. The father and son relationship is very special, especially in the work place, and I wouldn't trade this time for anything. Ultimately, I am so thankful for the family I have that supports me as my role in this company continues to grow. I hope this sparks a little reflection for you as you enjoy this season. We will see you next time at the pocket door workshop.
