Mother's Day Tribute

In honor of Mother’s Day, I wanted to celebrate my mom and the impact she has had on me and everyone around her. I am so grateful for all of the memories I’ve shared with my mom and the life lessons I’ve learned from her. My younger sister and I are so lucky that such an amazing woman raised us and set a great example for us to be the best parents we can be. I shared just a few of the inspirational things I have learned from my mom, and I hope that they inspire you too.

The best life advice that my mother has given me is to put God first. I have always seen her serve the Lord with all her heart and love her family with everything she has. I strive to follow that example and put my faith and family as my top priorities. She has always encouraged me to work hard so I can provide for my family. She has also taught me the importance of staying true to yourself and being someone who people can count on and depend on.

The best business advice my mom has given me is to always put your customer first and let them know how much you value them. She has told me to always give 100% of your effort and put your all into everything you do. It is also important to produce the quality product and end result that you want and that your customer deserves, which is always my goal here at the pocket door workshop.

While I have made so many memories with my mom over the years, there is one in particular that has always stuck out to me. I can remember when I was younger that my mom challenged me to go on a diet with her. We were both doing our best until I woke up in the middle of the night and decided to open up the refrigerator. I immediately spotted a dish of cherry delight which is my favorite dessert, so of course I got it out. As I was enjoying a bite, my mom came out, turned the lights on and yelled, "Mike!”. It’s definitely a funny memory to look back on, but this experience actually taught me that when you say you're going to do something you need to stick with it and do it.

Something I admire about my mom is the way that she puts 100% into her work, but she knows how to enjoy her free time with her family. She definitely knows how to balance her work with the rest of her life, and I could definitely see that growing up. She knows how to put her family first and focus on them without distractions which is something I am always trying to get better at.

One of the most important values that my mom has passed on to me that I want to instill in my children would be our Christian faith. We have always valued our faith in my family along with honesty, integrity, and hard work.

My mom and I work really well together. I can remember her being able to help me when I was doing schoolwork as a child, especially when I had to type up reports. She's written many books so she's very well versed in writing, whereas I am not. She has helped me out with that tremendously over the years, and we even worked together to create this website. I really enjoyed working on that together, and I was able to see her skills at work.

I'm really proud to have her as my mom and to have worked on so many different things with her over the years. I’m so grateful for my mom and the relationship we have, so I hope that you take the time today to thank your mom and all the important women in your life for the impact they’ve had on you.
